What the extension does

Broken CSS/JS Checker is a Chrome extension that detects broken (failed to load) CSS and JavaScript resources on the web page you are currently viewing. It works by observing network requests made by the page and comparing them to CSS/JS elements found in the page DOM.

Data collection

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or page content. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Network request results (URL, HTTP status, error type) are kept in memory only, per browser tab, and are discarded when the tab is closed or navigates to a new page. Nothing is written to disk, sent to any server, or shared with any third party.

Permissions

• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — required to observe network requests on any site you choose to check.
• webRequest — used to detect the success/failure status of CSS and JS network requests at the browser network layer.
• webNavigation — used to reset stored results when you navigate to a new page.
• tabs — used only to identify the active tab so results are shown for the correct page.
